I have always held decorating close to my heart. About, two years ago when the pandemic began and covid was in full swing we were stuck at home. Many of us began projects and turned our homes into our own special and safe oasis. Whether it was inside or outside we decided on what we wanted and needed most. Spare rooms and corners of homes became work from home offices. Outside, people began to finally get that pool or patio they had always been dreaming of. Children’s play sets and trampolines were hard to find as well as other outdoor entertainment things. Many people bought propane fire tables or built fire pits. Afterall, we needed to be able to entertain ourselves while being at home. That was a difficult time. We are still feeling the effects of it to this day. But, I think it provided us with a valuable lesson. At least for me that lesson was becoming more creative, DIY projects and being thrifty came into play as well as this is the perfect time to do a few things around our home. Our homes were now our sanctuary and they needed to feel like it. This also was when I began to get serious into making mood boards and believing it was possible to start a interior/exterior styling business. It wasn’t until about February of 2022 that I began to make a website, get my name out there and start blogging etc. I’m still building and growing but I have not given up and my hopes is that if there is something that you seek or wish to do that you whole heartedly try it and know that it takes time so don’t give up!
A few pictures I'm about to share is what I did to create a feeling of happiness here at home. Inspired by the surmounting popularity in the jungalow design style I created a resort like feel/escape…
Went to the Dollar Tree and got the things I needed….VERY VERY inexpensively.
Fashion your life as a “GARLAND” of beautiful deeds…
Using the colored wood beads and string created a wood bead tassel garland.
Tropic like it’s hottttttt…..
I painted tropical leaves onto small canvas’ and hung them on the left side of the bed.
Cut and framed DOLLAR TREE fabric. Yes, I said Dollar Tree tropical fabric.
Added a pineapple glass, sunglasses and voila! Took my pics of my tropically styled room. Done!
Gave the downstairs bathroom that same sort of vibe.
Drab times called for color!
Color Blocked a planter….
Just some painters tape and paint created this fun and summery like planter.
While there were more things, I tackled over this time these are just a few rooms and one DIY project I took on. Maybe, some other DIYS will get shared later on….
